Hollidays.
finally.
After a horrible corona year the psychological stresslevel was maxed out. The planned vacation to the north of france also got cancelled (again: covid) and we were desillusioned.
In a kneejerk reaction we just booked 'something by the sea, where the weather should be ok' : It turned out to be between the Camargue and the Marseille bay area, a little village called Port Saint Louis. We had absolutely no clue what we're gonna expect.
And as so often in life we got positively surprised. A touristic more or less uninteresting city by the outfall of the Rhone river. Very idyllic, settled in the nature, no hotels, just a little yacht harbour. The possibilities for trips to the camargue, Marseille and the Provence were ideal, as it is centered in the middle of all. The ~100 km beaches around Port Saint Louis were empty (maybe bc it was already end of August, but hey).
Camargue means: Black Bulls, White Horses and pink ducks, dragonflies - and salt. Mountains of salt.
We met just very friendly people there, no mattter if in the supermarket, our Air BnB renter, on a soiréet, litterally anywhere.
